Born and raised in Eugene, Glenn graduated from the University of Oregon, served on the board of Sponsors, the Jefferson Westside Neighbors, the Chamber of Commerce Aviation Committee and was past president of the Cascade Lions Club. Glenn currently is on the board of the national NEC Dealers Association, NECDA.

Healthcare System Aplications Specialist

Growing up in a family Telecom company inspired me to learn the business and the latest technologies. I have always strived to learn and use the latest equipment and features to streamline communications for my clients.

As a technician I was involved with more than a 500 installations of Telephone, Sound, Alarm, and Video systems.

In 2005 I was promoted to the service manager position at Smeed Communication Services. While in this position I managed installation teams, scheduled project installations, service tickets, programmed systems, and provided general customer support for over 10 years.

I have been involved with our Health Care department for the last 5 years and have now been promoted to the Healthcare Applications Specialist for Smeed.

I am excited to continue providing our Healthcare partners with superior quality products and service that they have received from Smeed Communication Services in the past.
Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon,

I am married and have one daughter. This last spring our daughter gifted us with a beautiful grandson. If were not babysitting  then were at the coast were I am an avid fisherman and my wife loves being my first mate on the boat and tries to out fish me 

Paul Smeed

Sales manager and co-owner of Smeed Communications, Paul works with the sales team to keep them up to date on the latest technical advancements. A highly trained Sound consultant, Paul has attended several system design schools such as Syn-Aud-Con, Bose Professional, Biamp, and many others. He is a member of "NSCA" the National Systems Contractors Association and attends the national "Infocom" convention annually.

Paul specializes in sound systems for Churches, Schools and Governmental agencies. He has worked on sound systems for the Hult Performing Arts Center, and the outdoor pavilion of the Oregon Shakespearean Theater in Ashland just to name a couple. Both of these theaters are considered to be world class performing arts centers. Paul has made hundreds of sound system evaluations in Oregon. And in his free time Paul likes to restore old cars.

During his career he has supplied visual communication systems to the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and many other organizations large and small.

Telephone Service Technician
Smeed Communication Services is looking for a full time Telephone Technician for service and installation of NEC digital telephone and voicemail systems at customer locations in the Eugene and Lane county area.

Ability to trouble shoot customer problems and repair defective equipment or make required programming changes.
Install telephone cable and outlets as needed. Additional systems may include sound, video, and alarm equipment.
Some travel and out of town requirements may apply. Must have prior experience and personal hand tools.

Oregon low voltage license is a plus.
Pay based on ability and prior experience $25-28.00hr, plus Medical, 401K, plus expenses, plus paid vacation.

Licensed Low Voltage Technician

We are looking for quality Oregon Licensed "LEA" or "LEB" low voltage technicians to install and service communications equipment in Medical and Educational facilities through out Oregon.

Systems include Intercom, Nurse call, Sound, Video and Alarm systems located at customer sites in Eugene and surrounding areas.

Must be able to trouble shoot system problems, repair equipment, program, and make changes as required.

Installation of system cabling and devices as needed.

Some travel and out of town requirements may apply.
Prior experience or education, and personal tools required.
Product specific training will be provided in factory training classes, online and on site.
Company vehicle will be provided.
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
An Oregon limited energy electric license (LEA or LEB) is required.
Pay based on applicant's ability and experience level.
